Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
KeysMedic ("KeysMedic", "we", "us" or "our") is owned and operated by Key for Business Pty Ltd as trustee for The Khan Family Trust (ABN 18 245 314 308). We provide online platforms — AMC Prep and ADC Prep — that help internationally trained doctors and dentists prepare for the Australian Medical Council (AMC) CAT MCQ examination and the Australian Dental Council (ADC) Written Examination. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
By creating an account or using KeysMedic, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, a securely hashed password, the examination you are preparing for, and (optionally) your country of qualification.
- Practice and performance data — your practice sessions, mock exam attempts, answers, scores, timing and progress, so we can mark your work, track improvement and show your history and readiness analytics.
- Question reports — if you report a suspected mistake in a question, we store your report and the outcome of our review so we can notify you.
- Subscription and billing information — your plan, purchase history, invoices and payment status. Card payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not collect or store full card numbers.
- Device and session information — a label for the device and browser you sign in from, approximate location derived from your IP address, and sign-in times. We use this to operate our one-active-session security feature and to show you where your account is signed in.
- Technical and usage data — basic information such as device/browser type and pages used, to keep the service secure and working well.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and provide the question banks, mock exams, explanations and analytics.
- To generate and store your progress, results and readiness grades.
- To process subscriptions and payments and send purchase confirmations and invoices.
- To verify your email address and, where needed, send reminders to complete verification.
- To review question reports you submit and let you know the outcome.
- To protect your account — including detecting sign-ins from a new device and letting you choose whether to end an existing session.
- To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
- To maintain security, prevent misuse, and improve the quality of our questions and platforms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you pay, your card details are entered on Stripe's secure systems, not ours. We receive only confirmation of the payment and limited details (such as your plan, the amount paid and payment status), which we use to activate your access and issue your invoice. Stripe's handling of your information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We also use your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as which platform you last used. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear this data in your browser at any time.
5. How we share information
- Service providers who help us run KeysMedic — our payment processor (Stripe), hosting and database providers, and email delivery services — and only for those purposes.
- Authorities if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or KeysMedic.
AMC Prep and ADC Prep are operated as separate platforms. Information you provide to one is not shared with the other.
6. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access — including hashing passwords, verifying email addresses, limiting accounts to one active session at a time, restricting access to data, and using reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond promptly if an issue arises.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting or reporting obligations (for example, invoice and payment records). When information is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it. You may ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access and update your account details at any time.
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete your account and personal information.
- End a session on another device from your account, or by confirming at sign-in.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
9. Overseas handling of information
Some of our service providers (such as our payment processor and hosting providers) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be handled in line with this policy and applicable privacy laws.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of KeysMedic after an update means you accept the revised policy.
11. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, or if you would like to make a privacy request or complaint, please contact us at [email protected] or on 03 4245 7300. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
